<p>As such we may want to redefine what we mean by the word "job".</p>
<p>Simply said, a "job" is a set of duties or tasks.</p>
<p>A job can be paid or unpaid. It can be completed at a work site, at home or somewhere else. It can be a contract job, a consulting job or a volunteer job. Even someone who is self-employed has a job.</p>
<p>By better understanding the changing nature of the very definition of a job, it's easier to understand why most jobs are never advertised... they just "happen".</p>
<p>That's right, for most people, finding a job has everything to do with connecting the dots between odd events that lead to a job than just getting "the winning call" from a recruiter. In other words, don't think you're not on your way to your next job just because you're following your own path.</p>]]></metadata>
