In our changing world, more and more work is being done by people who do not have traditional kinds of jobs but —as any astute observer will confirm— the work is still there.
As such we may want to redefine what we mean by the word "job".
Simply said, a "job" is a set of duties or tasks.
A job can be paid or unpaid. It can be completed at a work site, at home or somewhere else. It can be a contract job, a consulting job or a volunteer job. Even someone who is self-employed has a job.
By better understanding the changing nature of the very definition of a job, it's easier to understand why most jobs are never advertised... they just "happen".
That's right, for most people, finding a job has everything to do with connecting the dots between odd events that lead to a job than just getting "the winning call" from a recruiter. In other words, don't think you're not on your way to your next job just because you're following your own path.

While Miami is still an awesome place to live and work, lots of people are left scratching their heads, wondering where all the really good jobs have gone.
Good jobs are the kind of jobs you aspire to and get paid enough money for in order to "have a life".
Does anybody know where all those "good jobs" have gone?

the secret, miami, good things, attraction, laws, universe
Have any of you heard about The Secret?
It seems to be everywhere, in book, in audiobooks and even in the form of a movie.
Some people want to hold on to the secret and never let anyone else know about it because it works so well but here's the part I felt was the most important of all and it has to do with the creative process, the process by which you create your own universe.
Here's how it works, in three (3) easy steps:
Isn't that easy? Anybody can do it.
First, you ask for something and you don't even need to say it with words because your very thoughts are connected with the universe.
Second, you'll see that the universe will start to rearrange itself to answer you so you need to understand that "answer" you'll have attracted.
Thirdly, you need to receive which means bringing yourself in alignment with what you want and asked for. When you do that, you feel wonderful.
You've been conditioned to think you're limited but that's a lie.
Break free from the "mass media" conditioning and listen to your inner voice.
You'll see good things happen to you if that's what you attract, within your very own creative process.

contract, miami-dade, teachers, schools
Teachers in Miami-Dade are celebrating, right now!
The Miami-Dade county's 22k teachers have worked without a contract since the fiscal year began in July, of 2008 so it took 16 months to hammer out a deal between the school district and the teachers' union — and they agreed to a three (3) year contract, on Monday, the 5th of October, 2009.
So, if you're a teacher, expect a little more on your next pay check.
Citizens are now even more justified to request that teachers perform at their very best, at all times.
It's always a bitsurprising, however, to hear about so many people getting a pay increase during such a nasty recession.
Let's hope more workers can be paid what they're worth.
